Think of it at three levels: at the business level, the human issues faced in making projects happen, in designing organisations, in getting the workplace to actually, well, work. This is the realm of the consultant, management or otherwise.
Dig below this: at the individual level, how well are those issues actually being handled? How does it feel? What expectations are being pursued? Have clear and honest choices been made? This is the realm of the coach, life or otherwise.
And now deeper still: within the individual. What made them who they are? Those feelings – what are they really saying? Where did those expectations come from; influences and role models? What drives those behaviours, wanted and unwanted, conscious and unconscious, pretend and real? This is the realm of the therapist.
